About the Academy

  • What is Ayurveda Alchemist® Academy?

    An independent Ayurvedic training academy based on the Gold Coast, Australia, teaching internationally. We deliver a layered practitioner education: the Level 1 Ayurvedic Health Consultant Certification, the Level 2 Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification, and three specialist trainings in Vedic breathwork (ĀyurSOUL), Ayurvedic bodywork (ĀyurBODY) and Ayurvedic herbal medicine (ĀyurHERBAL). Our curriculum joins classical Ayurvedic scholarship with contemporary physiology, trauma-aware pedagogy and professional practice.

  • Who is the Academy for?

    Students who want a structured, assessed education rather than a collection of short courses. In practice that means yoga teachers, bodyworkers, coaches, nurses, naturopaths and allied health professionals deepening an existing practice; career changers seeking a credible foundation; and people who have used Ayurveda in their own lives and now want to understand it properly.

  • What distinguishes this Academy from other Ayurvedic training?

    Four things we can evidence. Our curriculum is structured module by module to professional education standards. Our clinical hours are supervised, observed and signed off rather than self-reported. Nervous system science and trauma-aware practice sit in the core curriculum rather than in an optional module. And professional practice, meaning scope, compliance, records, insurance and business viability, is taught and assessed, because a graduate who never practises has not been served by their education.

  • Who will be teaching me?

    Our Faculty: a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Registered Nurse; a BAMS-qualified Ayurvedic physician and Panchakarma specialist trained in Nepal; a Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner and Panchakarma Specialist of twenty-seven years; and an Ayurvedic practitioner, bodywork educator and internationally certified yoga teacher of fifteen. All four maintain current clinical practice alongside their teaching.

Programs & Pathways

  • What pathways does the Academy offer?

    Level 1, the Ayurvedic Health Consultant Certification, is the foundation and the prerequisite for everything that follows. Level 2, the Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification, builds on it with advanced assessment, herbal formulation, system-based clinical work and a supervised clinical internship. Three specialist trainings, ĀyurSOUL Vedic Breathwork, ĀyurBODY Ayurvedic Bodywork and ĀyurHERBAL Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine, may be taken standalone at any point, and all three are included in Level 2.

  • How is each program structured?

    Level 1 is fifteen modules over twelve months: 400 hours of coursework plus 200 hours of supervised case study and clinical practice, 600 hours in total, all of which is required for graduation and carries forward into Level 2.

    Level 2 is twenty modules over twenty-four months: eighteen months of coursework plus a six-month supervised clinical internship, 800 hours of coursework and 400 clinical hours, 1,200 hours in total.

    Across both levels that is 1,800 hours, including 600 hours of supervised clinical practice.

  • Is there an option if I do not want to practise professionally?

    Yes. The Ayurveda Alchemist® Embodiment Pathway is a self-paced, 18-month access program for your own life and health. You receive much of the Level 1 curriculum, live classes with replays and the student community, without assessments, business modules or certification. If the practitioner path calls you later, you can enrol in the Level 1 Ayurvedic Health Consultant Certification; ask on a clarity call about how your Embodiment Pathway study is taken into account.

  • How many hours per week should I expect?

    At Level 1, approximately two hours of live class on Tuesday mornings during Queensland school terms plus three to four hours of directed self-study, with additional time during practicum blocks.

    At Level 2, approximately two and a half hours of live class on Thursday mornings on teaching weeks plus six to eight hours of case work, reading and clinical practice, rising during clinical blocks and the August immersion.

  • Are sessions recorded?

    Yes, for most classes. Recordings exist so that illness, time zones and ordinary life do not cost you a module. Practical assessments, supervised clinic and the in-person intensives require attendance, because competence in those areas cannot be demonstrated through a recording.

  • Do I need prior experience?

    No, for Level 1 and for the three specialist trainings. You need sufficient English literacy for written assessment. Level 2 requires graduation from Level 1, or equivalent prior Ayurvedic training assessed individually.

  • When do programs begin?

    Level 1 runs with a live cohort during Queensland school terms. The Embodiment Pathway can be started at any time. Level 2 has one intake each year in July; the next cohort begins on 29 July 2027, and enrolled students receive immediate platform access to work ahead. Dates for the in-person intensives are shown on each program page.

  • Can I study from outside Australia?

    Yes. Live classes run in Brisbane time with recordings available, and the curriculum is delivered online. Please note that scope of practice, insurance, herbal supply and professional registration are governed by the law of the country in which you practise. You are responsible for confirming your own local position, and we will tell you plainly where we cannot advise.

Certification, Scope & Recognition

  • What certification will I receive?

    An Ayurveda Alchemist® Academy certificate for the program you complete, issued on satisfactory completion of all assessment requirements. Graduates also receive their documented competency evidence, logged supervised hours and clinical case portfolio.

  • Is the certification recognised?

    Ayurveda Alchemist® Academy is an independent training academy, and our certifications are Academy certifications. They are recognised by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) and the My Health Association (MHA) for professional membership and insurance purposes. Regulations differ by country and state, and you are responsible for your own local compliance. We provide syllabi, hour statements and supporting documentation for your applications rather than promising an outcome we do not control.

  • What is my scope of practice after graduation?

    Level 1 graduates support, educate and guide clients in Ayurvedic lifestyle, daily rhythm, nutrition and self-care within an Ayurvedic lifestyle consultation scope, referring to qualified health professionals when required.

    Level 2 graduates practise Ayurvedic assessment and clinical reasoning, offer condition support within scope, and undertake treatment planning within an Ayurvedic framework, working collaboratively and referring where required.

    At no level do Academy graduates diagnose, treat disease, or replace medical care.

  • Will this support professional association membership and insurance?

    Recognition by IICT and MHA supports membership and professional indemnity insurance through a number of providers. Requirements differ between associations and insurers and they change, so we provide the documentation for your application and encourage you to confirm your position with your chosen provider before you enrol.

Curriculum & Clinical Training

  • Will I learn pulse and tongue assessment?

    Yes. Foundational nadi and jihva pariksha are taught and assessed in Level 1 Module 6. Advanced pulse and multi-parameter examination are taught and assessed under observation in Level 2 Module 1, before clinical hours begin.

  • Will I learn herbs?

    Yes, at three depths. Level 1 Module 10 covers dravyaguna principles, the kitchen pharmacy, common herbs, preparation, safety and the Australian regulatory context within a lifestyle consultation scope. Level 2 Module 14 covers advanced formulation, preparation, dispensing and compliant labelling. ĀyurHERBAL covers the full preparation and dispensary discipline across twelve modules.

  • Will I learn to make and dispense herbal medicine?

    Yes, through ĀyurHERBAL, our Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine training. Twelve modules built on the Academy Dispensary Manual cover the classical preparation forms, from cūrṇa through sneha pāka to guggulu śodhana, plus compliant labelling, client counselling and dispensing records, with a seven-day in-person intensive. ĀyurHERBAL is included in Level 2 and available standalone.

  • Will I learn bodywork?

    Yes. Level 1 Module 13 introduces bodywork foundations. The full ĀyurBODY Ayurvedic Bodywork Certification, with its in-person intensive on the Gold Coast, is included in Level 2 and available standalone. What you may then offer for payment depends on your own qualifications, insurance and local regulations, and we require a written scope-and-insurance verification as part of final assessment.

  • Is breathwork included?

    Yes. Level 1 Module 12 covers breath as a nervous system regulation tool. The full ĀyurSOUL Vedic Breathwork Training, with its in-person intensive in Burleigh Heads, is included in Level 2 and available standalone.

  • Will I see real clients?

    Yes. Supervised practice begins in Level 1 and deepens in Level 2, where the clinical internship is supervised, observed and documented, with informed consent covering student status and supervision, and a named escalation point in every clinic. Every client contact is documented to the Academy record standard.

  • What if a client presents with something beyond my scope?

    You refer, and you are taught how. Recognising presentations that require medical assessment, making a timely and respectful referral, and corresponding professionally with a treating practitioner are all taught and assessed. Working confidently within scope depends on knowing precisely where its edges are.

  • What mentorship and support is included?

    Live classes with your cohort, optional weekly office hours during term, criteria-referenced feedback on every assessment, and a student community for peer practice. Level 1 students are assigned a mentor. Level 2 students are additionally matched with an intern supervisor for clinical case support, with weekly batched case review and quarterly progression reviews.

  • Will I get business support?

    Yes, and it is assessed rather than offered as a bonus. Level 1 Module 15 covers professional practice, ethics, legal compliance, privacy, pricing and compliant marketing. Level 2 Modules 19 and 20 cover clinic governance, practice models, financial planning and leadership.

  • How is the training delivered?

    Online through the Academy learning portal for curriculum, recordings and resources, with live classes on Zoom in Brisbane time (AEST). Selected intensives and the Clinical Supervision Immersion are in person on the Gold Coast.

  • What happens if I fall behind?

    Tell us early. Recordings, self-paced homework and a completion window built into each program exist for exactly this reason, and students who become overwhelmed are offered one-to-one prioritisation calls to rebuild a realistic plan. Deferral to a later cohort is considered case by case.

  • What are the technical requirements?

    A reliable internet connection, a laptop or desktop computer, Zoom, and access to the Academy learning portal. Practical assessment may require you to record video, so a phone camera and somewhere quiet to practise are useful.

Tuition, Payments & Policies

  • What does Level 1 cost?

    Level 1 tuition is AUD $3,499 paid in full, or a $500 deposit followed by 11 monthly payments of $295 (total $3,745 on the payment plan). The Embodiment Pathway, our self-paced personal-study option without certification, is priced separately on its program page.

  • What does Level 2 cost?

    Level 2 tuition is AUD $7,997 and includes all three specialist trainings: ĀyurSOUL, ĀyurBODY and ĀyurHERBAL. A $500 deposit secures your place and gives you immediate platform access; payment plans are available and are set out on the Level 2 page.

  • What do the specialist trainings cost?

    Taken standalone, ĀyurSOUL Vedic Breathwork Training is AUD $998, the ĀyurBODY Ayurvedic Bodywork Certification is AUD $899, and ĀyurHERBAL Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine is AUD $1,298, with payment plans available on ĀyurHERBAL. All three are included in Level 2 tuition. Please note that 2027 pricing will reflect an increase; the price shown on each program page at the time you enrol is the price you pay.

  • Do I have to commit to the whole pathway now?

    No, and most students do not. Begin with Level 1, or with a specialist training. If the practitioner road calls you, progress to Level 2 when you are ready. Nothing you complete is repeated or wasted: your Level 1 hours carry forward.

  • Are payment plans and scholarships available?

    Yes. Payment plans are available on Level 1, Level 2 and ĀyurHERBAL. Occasional scholarships are offered; ask the team about current options.

  • Are the in-person intensives included in my tuition?

    The training is. Travel, food and accommodation are not. Every in-person component, including the ĀyurBODY intensive, the ĀyurSOUL intensive, the seven-day ĀyurHERBAL intensive, the twelve-day Clinical Supervision Immersion on the Gold Coast and any retreat, is an additional expense that you arrange and pay for yourself. We say this upfront so you can budget for the full pathway rather than for tuition alone.

  • What is your refund and deferral policy?

    Level 1 and Level 2 carry our 7-Day Promise: a full refund if requested in writing within 7 days of enrolment. Professional Development and self-study programs, workshops and one-day events are non-refundable but transferable to another person. Retreat deposits are non-refundable; balance payments are refundable (less the deposit) until the final-balance date shown on the retreat page.   • “Will I be good enough?”

    No prior experience is required at Level 1. Teaching is structured, trauma-aware and cumulative, and assessment is criteria-referenced: you are told what competence looks like before you are asked to demonstrate it, and formative feedback comes before any summative judgement.   • “I live overseas. Can I still study?”
